Mrs. Garrett opened her own gourmet food shop, '[[Edna's Edibles]]' which later evolved into the 1950's style malt shop called, '[[Over Your Heads]].' Her replacement was [[Cloris Leachman]]; who played energetic and not so wise sister, [[Beverly Ann Stickle]].

School dietician Edna Garrett, played by Charlotte Rae, mentored and guided four girls: the snobby rich Blair Warner (Lisa Welchel), gossiping Tootie Ramsey (Kim Fields), impressionable Natalie Green (Mindy Cohn), and Jo Polniaczek (Nancy McKeon) at the all exclusive private boarding school, Eastland Academy, in Peekskill, New York.
