Teenage Marriage 2 is the 8th episode of the Second Season and the 21th episode overall of "The Facts Of Life." It first aired on January 24, 1981.
Synopsis[]
Blair returns to Eastland looking for Jo and Eddie and Mrs. Garrett says they aren't there. They fear they ran off together to get married, but when Jo does show up, she gets angry at Blair for telling on her and reveals she is getting married. Mrs. Garrett tries to stop her from doing it, and Jo reveals she and Eddie are getting married in West Virginia due to the less stringent laws there. Mrs. Garrett has the girls stall Jo with a bridal shower until Jo's mom arrives and has Howard similarly stall Eddie. Unfortunately, Jo realizes what's going on, gets mad and flees with Eddie on her motorcycle. On their way to West Virginia, they stop at a motel because it’s so cold and they discuss marriage, they soon realize neither of them are really ready for marriage, especially since Jo wants to finish high school and go to college. Eddie says that would be difficult since he moves around a lot. At that moment, Mrs. Garrett arrives with Blair, and she's furious. She reminds Jo she's still on probation and she's responsible for her. She wants Jo to stay until her mom arrives, but Jo lets her know she's already realized she made a mistake and has decided not to marry Eddie. She and Eddie call off their engagement, and Jo returns to Eastland with Mrs. Garrett and Blair. Meanwhile, Eddie departs to catch a bus back to Chicago.
