Natalie Green was a fictional character on "The Facts of Life." She was played by actress Mindy Cohn throughout the series, several movies and on The Facts of Life Reunion.

Bio[]

Natalie Green was a Jewish student at Eastland Academy and a best friend to Tootie Ramsey. Her most defining physical attribute was her large-figured. However, Natalie had a healthy self-image about her size and was once quoted as saying, "Who wants to be a skinny pencil? I'd rather be a happy Magic Marker!" She was very serious about her faith and observed Hanukkah as well as Christmas. She was also adopted and very close to her parents, grieving for her father when he died. Although not particular promiscuous, she dated often and had a few boyfriend, even losing her virginity before her friends. She also survived a sexual assault while in Eastland, taking several months to get over it.

Natalie was a budding writer and wrote for the Eastland Academy newspaper. She graduated Eastland in 1986, but didn't go to college immediately and took a year off to travel across the country on a bus. Her family and friends were initially dismayed, because she turned down an admission offer from Princeton University to go "Greyhound." After a year, she decided to attend Langley College with her classmates Blair Warner and Jo Polniaczek, later becoming a reporter for the local newspaper in Peekskill. She went to New York City towards to pursue her writing career.

Several years later, she is revealed to have a boyfriend and has a run-in with her ex. Her current boyfriend eventually proposing to her by phone.

Trivia[]

  • On the episode in which Natalie visits the SOHO loft she will eventually call home, her future roommates include Richard Grieco and David Spade. (The episode, which aired in 1988, was originally set up for Mindy Cohn to transition into a spinoff series, but the plans never materialized).
