George Burnett was a fictional character on "The Facts of Life." He was played by actor George Clooney of "Ocean's Eleven" fame through seventeen episodes of the series.

Bio[]

George Burnett is a local carpenter and contractor who worked for his father at the local hardware store in Peekskill, New York. Not much is known about his life, but after the local delicacy shop Edna's Edibles burned down in 1985, he was hired as a handyman to help rebuild the store into Over Our Heads. In doing so, he became close friends of the girls living there, particularly Blair Warner, Natalie Green and Jo Polniaczek, who he asked to pretend to be his girlfriend to make an old flame jealous. However, he was eventually fired when his work began lagging, but when faced with more dishonest contractors, Edna Garrett soon hired him back.

Two years later, George met Cinnamon, a pop star who was friends of the girls. Stressed by the pressures of her fame, she confessed she wanted to walk away from it, but George convinced her to stay with it, even going as far to leave Peekskill and help her as a roadie in her concert.

In 2001, Blair mentions a George who covered repairs and maintenance at her hotel. Whether this was George himself is unrevealed.
